Well it’s certainly not the weather to be writing about short styles of wedding dress (especially as I sit here all wrapped up in a cosy cardigan) but it looks like they are set to become increasingly popular within the UK Bridal marketplace. I wrote in an earlier blog that 2011 is trending towards wedding dresses featuring texture, volume and ruffles and it’s certainly fair to say that short n’sassy will be a big bridal trend for 2011 and 2012 too! Some of our Brides have already ordered one of our gorgeous shorter dresses as a second dress for their big day to wear at their evening party. One Bride just loved the idea of showing her legs and very gorgeous diamante encrusted Belle shoes off (you go girl), and another sees it as a chance to fling her fancy footwork during their first dance. Four other lovely Brides of ours have felt that the short dress ticks all of their non conventional (but very stunning) wedding day boxes and have chosen a short style bridal dress in which to take their vows and make their wedding day and evening statement. Either way, we are loving the shorter dresses so much that we have just ordered three more styles from which our Brides can choose – award winning dress designer Mark Lesley and our fabulous French designer Eglantine are sending them by Elf post and say they’ll be here just after the Christmas rush!!! For Brides who are sticking to tradition and still want to be dressed in gorgeous longer length dresses, do not worry we have a large collection of draw dropping beautiful wedding dresses that feature beautifully embellished trains too – So; it’s certainly not the end of the full length traditional bridal look but do not be surprised if you see shorter bridal gowns popping up on an aisle somewhere near you and if you can afford to do so why not consider a shorter length dress for your evening celebrations, I know I would have done so…. Enjoy the Autumn weather and the beautiful colours of rust, brown and gold that it brings and thank you so much to everyone’s generous comments about our Autumn themed shop window, we love it too but cannot wait until our winter wonderland theme, the reindeer, snow and life size snowflakes are all on order!!??
